Archibald McAlister, founder of our agency in 1885 and first Mayor of San Luis Obispo, had a sign on the office wall that read, “If whiskey interferes with your business, then get rid of your business.” Over the years, coffee has supplanted whiskey, but the sense of hospitality and connection with our community remains strong.
